Single Member District 2C03

This single member district borders between 6th street in the east to 12th street to the west, N St. to the north and Independence Avenue to the south, is perhaps one of the most diverse, symbolic and significant neighborhood in our city.

It is symbolic and significant because it includes Convention Center, F.B.I., the Museums in the National Mall and the U.S. Capitol. It is important, not just because it includes such magnificent edifices, because of its people. Our neighborhood includes four distinct neighborhoods: Shaw, Mt Vernon Square, Chinatown and Penn Quarter. Each of these neighborhoods has its own unique character and needs.

As our city grows, neighborhoods change. While change has been positive in bringing prosperity, it is important to maintain the uniqueness of all of these neighborhoods. It is important to maintain the delicate balance between neighborhoods, and the balance between businesses and residents.
